Unfortunately for the Wedding Industry there is now a constant stream of "Wanna be" Wedding Photographers that can usually be found on social media sites that seem to promise the earth at very little cost.

 

In most cases they do not have the essential knowledge or professional equipment and back up so it would seem to me that the people who use them are taking quite a risk.

Charging unrealistically low rates such as a few hundred pounds for all day coverage often points to beginner level work, cheap kit lenses, shooting entirely in auto mode, and massive technical errors like missed focus.

Having said all that there are many new / young photographers out there who are very talented but it is always best to check out their profiles , portfolio's and their websites  ( if they have one ) beforehand.  

 

As Professional's we have back up equipment to the same standard, have a plan to work to and can photograph correctly according to the varying lighting and conditions on the day.
